ICARUS

“Minos might own everything, but not the air! Let’s flee through there!”
(Ovid, Metamorphoses)

The worldwide success achieved by ClaraVox and DGFdesign with their DOGMA prompted the same team of designers to take a new and fascinating journey into the exclusive field of High Fidelity sound systems.
The Latin verses from Ovid’s Metamorphoses inspired the genesis of the ICARUS project; in architect Marco Francesconi’s view, the purpose was to create a loudspeaker featuring a neat design form with no parallel surfaces.
The two lateral boards are enhanced by their colour and materials, thus dissolving the mass of the loudspeaker and revealing an extraordinarily light object.

ICARUS’s challenge has been accomplished at a time marked by a specific historical anniversary: it’s been forty years since the moon landing. This impossible goal became an unquestionable reality, representing a symbol of grandeur and man’s will to surpass himself.
Through time man has understood the mechanisms regulating air flows, thus shaping forms and overcoming laws once deemed inviolable; likewise, ICARUS flies away from all that is conventional and establishes new parameters in acoustic and visual interpretation. .... ... .. . .. . ....... . .. . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . .. . .. . .. . .. .. . . .. . . . . .
